Born in 1844, she was the eldest daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark.
She married Albert Prince of Wales in 1863, becoming the Princess of Wales. Upon Queen Victoria's death in 1901, she became Queen consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Empress of India.
